Laitiam Village is about 17km from Sohra. It is a village surrounded by forest, rivers and deep gorges where beautiful waterfalls emerge in the summer season such as the Kshaid Nohsngithiang and others. The Village falls under the Sohra Civil Subdivision, Sohra Police Station, Shella Bholaganj C&Rd Block. As per the stories of the Ancestors, Laitiam had its own chiefship but in the year 1828 it joined with Sohra Syiemship, Laitiam is around 400 years old since its establishment, it has around 150 households, population of 700 member that is 350 female and 350 male members. the agriculture produce in the village include Bay Leaves, Wild Pepper, Thri(Riphin), Broomsticks, Jackfruits, Sohramdieng and Others. The Dorbar Shnong protects and preserves the Dieng Jri to make them into a bridge for easier commute, to get to the other side of the river, to get to their farms and to get markets especially in the summer season.
